April 3, 2012
Mitt Romney is expected to win today's Republican primaries in Maryland, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The closest race of the three is in Wisconsin, where he only holds a single-digit lead over Rick Santorum. In Maryland, Mr. Romney leads by mroe than 15%.
Today's primaries are winnter-takes-all, which means that Mr. Romney will likely collect all 89 delegates at stake today.
Well-known conservative radio host Charlie Sykes believes that Mr. Romney's margin of victory will be the biggest indicator as to how much longer the Republican Party's primary season will continue.
Newt Gingrich, who could be dropping out of the race any day now, will have to receive a double digit percentage of the votes in one of the primaries to justify staying in the race.
